How Old Are You?!

36 Vayadhinile/ How old are you... Though the movie has not created any major impact as such, few thoughts popped out and that I ended up writing this article. This isn't a review of an ordinary movie, but just a thought inspired from the same.
"Who decides the expiry date of women’s dream?” That was a kind of one slap across the face. We are still living in the society which talks about women empowerment. Keeping aside, the few exceptions where we had great leaders, scientists, doctors, engineers and astronauts, the fact lies beneath.
Let’s not be biased.  14 Prime Ministers, 15 Presidents. Only one among them was a woman. Truly, it doesn’t conclude only they had dreams and others don’t.  Dreams could be colossal or narrow, but definitely it’s the privilege of every woman to dream in their own way.  Not that, who dream high end up successfully, reaching the peak and those who dream less remain dreaming throughout life.  All that it takes is a step to focus and actualize them lucratively.
Considering the big picture, our society is far-flung, dwelling with distinctive women. Language divergent, disparate by culture, bountiful who are working and rest are the lady of the house.
Each and everyone have their own identity and are well qualified to sail towards their aspiration. For the home-economist, the vision is to transform an emotionless house into an ecstatic home. In fact, now days the hard task lies in there. Concealing her passion, eschewing what she longs for, a woman lives a life just to make sure her spouse and children are contented.
Hence, blaming the society for what it is now seem to be a pretext. This is because, a single woman travelling beyond what others couldn't imagine, might be turmoil. If the same has been carried out by a modest group it becomes news. But if the same has been executed by a chiliad, it becomes history.
Gone are the days, where women were stifled and restricted from achieving their goals which really wrecked their life.  There were worst blindfolds followed, just to hold them within four walls, principles and rituals that dumped them.
Just to emphasize the lines of the great poet Bharathiyar,
“Saathiram pesugiraai kannamma, Saathiram yedhukadi… Aathiram kondavarke kannamma, saathiram undodi..”
( You are talking about rules and regulations,..
What are they for?..For those only who are angry, Do the rules and regulations suit. )
Time has changed, things have changed. Now women are independent and can raise their heads high to walk proudly before those who treated them as weaker sex. After all, we have a civilization where prostitution is legalized and that still dress code remains as major reason for the continuous maltreatment and defilement of women. Once we start denouncing things around, women fail to reach the heights, their dreams fall apart. Let the circle be smaller or massive, all that we need is the right focus. Let’s not burden the society and people around for the failures. Being a dominant sex, it’s a woman’s chore to illuminate her life. That brings real women empowerment spread all over!
